A peace garden blossomed as a multifaith group invited the community to plant in it.
Watford Interfaith Association (WIFA) has been creating the peace garden in The Orchard in Cassiobury Park for the past four years, and invited the community to plant trees, bulbs and flowers as part of the Week of Prayer for World Peace.
On October 8, Rev Dr Geoffrey Calvert, chairman of WIFA conducted a silent vigil and recited prayers for international peace with the community and two Safer Community officer present, before the green-fingered helpers helped themselves to refreshments.
The group work in the garden every Wednesday morning and Sunday afternoon, so to take part in creating the peace garden, contact Jeff on 07973 316689 or Judith on wifasec@aol.com.
