Police officers investigating an incident of criminal damage in Rickmansworth have released a CCTV image of a man they would like to speak to as part of their enquiries.
The incident happened between 11pm on Saturday, October 8, and 1am on Sunday, October 9.
During that time, a would-be thief entered the household waste recycling centre on Riverside Drive by climbing the fence before searching an open bin.
They have then attempted to gain access to a recycling bin containing laptops and mobile phones but were unsuccessful. However they have caused damage to the recycling bin.
PCSO Alan Waller, from the Rickmansworth Safer Neighbourhood Team, said: “Though nothing was taking during this incident, it has inconvenienced the owners of the site who now have to repair the damaged container.
“I appreciate that the image resolution is low but this man is wearing distinctive clothing. Do you recognise him?”
Anyone with information relating to the incident is asked to contact police via the non-emergency 101 number, quoting crime reference C2/17/2738.
