THE LIFE president of the East London and Essex Liberal Synagogue marked his 90th birthday with a celebratory service.
Worshippers and friends of Peter Benscher gathered on Friday, October 20, to commemorate the milestone on Erev Shabbat with a cake made by Alice Wilcock, joint vice-chair of the synagogue.
The service was led by Richard Jacobi, his father Harry Jacobi, who gave a personal address to Mr Benscher, and student Rabbi Daniela Touati.
