An apprentice has put peddle to the metal in in his future career as a mechanic at a national awards ceremony.
Shaun Richard from Skillnet Scania was named the Outstanding Student in Heavy Vehicle category at an event this week.
The event was hosted by the Institute of the Motor Industry (IMI) and celebrated the hard work of outstanding achievers at their Hertfordshire headquarters.
The IMI recognised and congratulated staff who work hard to deliver training programmes to learners starting off in their career.
The awards were presented by Prince Michael of Kent.
IMI Chief Executive Steve Nash said: “The Outstanding Achievers Awards is an important date in the IMI’s calendar because it provides us with an opportunity to congratulate first-hand people who are working and training in our industry.
“The IMI has over 600 training centres in the UK with around 60 more internationally and without their dedicated staff delivering our qualifications and training to such a high standard we wouldn’t be able to provide the sector with the much-needed young talent that it requires.”
