Two businesses have taken part in dementia friends sessions as part of their work with an Alzheimer's charity.

Hertfordshire based Smart Cover Insurance and Lonsdale Wealth Management took part in dementia friends information sessions in their offices, as part of an ongoing partnership with charity Alzheimer's Society.

Niraz Buhari, managing director at Watford-based Smart Cover Insurance, said: "We feel very proud to be associated with Alzheimer’s Society.

"I am sure that the Information Session will help our staff to deal with potentially vulnerable customers and make them more comfortable and confident while speaking to us."

The initiative aims to change the way people act, think and talk about dementia so everyone can get the care and support they need in their community as well as through health organisations.

In Hertfordshire there are 272 dementia friends champions, who have helped more than 30,000 people become dementia friends across the county.
