A former PE teacher has embarked on a search to reconnect with former pupils he taught around 50 years ago.

Jerry Dix was the head of Physical Education at Watford Technical High School between 1963 and 1974, which was then located at the junction of Bushey Hall Road and Aldenham Road, in Watford.

While sorting through a pile of old photographs recently, he was filled with nostalgic memories of his teaching years.

Now Mr Dix is hoping to get back in touch with some of his former students to share their own stories of their school years with him.

He said: “The school had a strong sporting tradition, with pupils regularly achieving success – particularly in football and athletics.

“In addition, I coached the Watford Boys’ football team and the Hertfordshire Schools’ football team – both achieving success in Hertfordshire schools and English Schools competitions.

“I have to say it was a privilege to know and teach them and I’d love to know if they’ve the same recollection of me.”
