Performing arts students were given a once in a lifetime opportunity to perform at Her Majesty’s Theatre in London’s West End in front of 1,200 people.

The 40 pupils, aged between 10 and 17 from The Academy Watford performed two eight-minute medleys from the musicals 13 and School of Rock on December 3.

Sara Bispham, who runs The Academy, said she could not have been happier with the performance.

She said: “I was so impressed with how our students conducted themselves. They were consummate professionals the entire day and their performances were outstanding.”

Performer India Rose, 11, said: “It was an amazing opportunity to perform at Her Majesty’s Theatre. I loved it so much, I want to do everything over and over again, and I had so much fun."

Amanda Finestone, whose son Nate performed with the group said: “I was so blown away by what these incredible kids pulled off. The energy, the performance, the synchronisation, they looked so professional.”

Nate added: "It was the best day of my entire life. The rehearsals were such hard work but it paid off when I got the most amazing feeling when the crowd were cheering."
