DARIUS HENDERSON has turned down a move to Preston.
Watford had allowed the 25-year-old striker permission to talk to Preston manager Paul Simpson after accepting a £1.3m bid.
But Henderson has rejected the move to Deepdale and appears content to either stay and fight for his place at Vicarage Road or wait for a more attractive offer. The striker is understood to be holding out for a move to Wolves.
Henderson was not part of Aidy Boothroyd's initial plans for this season but the manager has now undergone a change of heart after missing out on Heidar Helguson and DJ Campbell.
"We're disappointed, but I hope to use the money in other areas," said Preston boss Simpson.
