Thousands of pounds worth of damage has been caused after bikers drove over a farmer's field.

In the last two weeks, motocross bikes have been ridden over land in Warren Farm, Maple Cross, close to the M25.

Police are now issuing a warning to the bikers.

PC Christian Gottmann, from the Rickmansworth safer neighbourhood team, said: "The damage has had a severe impact on the owner’s livelihood.

"I want to stress that riding bikes across private farm land is illegal and anyone caught doing so will be dealt with robustly."

Bikers caught riding illegally or anti-socially can be issued with a written 'section 59' warning. If a biker is caught again within 12 months, the police have powers to seize the bike.

Anyone with any information about the incident at Warren Farm, which is part of Woodoaks Farm, is asked to contact the Rickmansworth Safer Neighbourhood Team on the non-emergency number 101 or you can contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800555111.
