Pupils at a primary school will feature in the longest running children’s television show in history.

Children at Highwood Primary School in Bushey have been chosen to appear in Blue Peter as part of the shows 2018 Book Awards.

Only one other school in the country has been selected to be filmed.

Pupils from Years 5 and 6 have been judging a series of books for the past two months.

Watford Observer:

Ben Meyjes, reading co-ordinator and teacher at Highwood, said: “I applied to be part of this exciting opportunity as part of our drive to inspire the children at our school to love books and enjoy thinking deeply about what they have read.

"I was so impressed with how the children expressed their opinions clearly and thoughtfully under pressure, in front of the camera.”

Highwood Primary School will feature in Blue Peter this evening (February 15) at 5.30pm on CBBC and the same time and channel again on February 22.
