A hairdresser who works with a host of Bollywood stars was celebrated at a UK Asian beauty pageant.

Dimple ‘Dimps’ Sanghani, from Edgware, was crowned Mrs Asia UK Universe at the Mrs Asia UK pageant in Central London.

She was recognised for her work at her salon in Chelsea, Tiara Hair and Beauty, which she runs with her sister Jigna Soni.

The two of them cater for a number of Indian celebrities and they have also carried out work for film and TV across the UK.

Dimps was praised for her commitment to her career in helping women on and off the screen, particularly after marrying and having children.

She said: “It can take a lot out of you to have a great career after having kids but I believe that with hard work, positivity and dedication, nothing is impossible.

“I am very passionate about my work and a real perfectionist. I see myself as an artist that can gain satisfaction from starting with a blank canvas and seeing my clients leave with a smile.”

The proud mother-of-two moved to London in 2001, where she settled in North West London.

Having always had an interest in style and beauty, she studied for three years at Barnet College in order to gain the necessary qualifications.

In addition to co-running her own salon, she has picked up a number of awards for her work in TV and film.

These achievements, as well as her charitable efforts, are what impressed the judges at the Mrs Asia UK awards.

She added: “I believe in giving and intend to hold a charity day once a month at the salon.

“We want to make a difference in people’s lives and raise money for good causes. Helping women who are victims of abuse is something that is very important to me, as well as supporting those who are homeless.

“Knowing that things are in our own hands to make a difference gives me the belief that we can make the world a better place.”

Dimps will now go on to represent England at the international version of the pageant in Jamaica this July.
