People are being encouraged to dress up for a weekly parkrun as it gets set to celebrate its third anniversary tomorrow.

The Cassiobury Park 5km run takes place every Saturday from 9am, with the briefing for first-time joggers taking place at 8.50am.

The timed run usually begins from the Rickmansworth Road entrance to Cassiobury Park, however this year participants will complete the course in reverse, starting from outside The Cha Café, on Saturday.

The fancy dress theme is spots.

Cllr Karen Collett, who is responsible for community, called the parkrun a “great success” for Watford as it attracted 349 participants at its first anniversary and had 433 finishers at its second anniversary.

She said: “Keeping fit helps you live longer and stay healthier and happier.

“We are delighted to have helped launch Cassiobury parkrun, and to have brought the joy of exercise into so many people’s lives.

“Hundreds of people take part every week – a great success for Watford.”
