Three 13-year-old boys have been cautioned after admitting to attacking and almost robbing a teenager near a park.

The incident occurred in the alleyway leading to Cassiobury Park from Shepherds Road, in Watford, on the afternoon of Wednesday, February 28.

The victim, a 14-year-old boy, was assaulted but none of his property was taken.

The three boys were arrested on Friday, March 2 and interviewed in custody.

All three fully admitted to the crime and they each received a caution.

Detective Sergeant Chris Parperi, from the Watford Local Crime Unit, said: “I want to reassure the public that we will always take reports of these crimes seriously and we will always endeavour to fully investigate the circumstances.

“On this occasion, the boys responsible each received a caution due to it being their first offence. Their parents were also spoken to by officers.”
