The mayor of Watford visited the site of a £6million affordable housing development which is due to be completed in the spring.

Hart Homes is a joint venture between Watford Borough Council and Watford Community Housing to deliver new homes in Croxley View, west Watford.

Dorothy Thornhill and cllr Stephen Johnson, who is responsible for Housing, checked the progress on the site on Thursday as families on Watford’s Housing Register are to move in by early summer.

Mayor Thornhill said: “We know that there are a lot of families who are struggling to find good quality affordable homes, which is why this partnership with Watford Community Housing is so important.

“Through Hart Homes we can help ensure that we have the type of new homes that we need in the town.

“It will be fantastic to welcome the first Watford families to the development in the summer.”
