The mother of a four-year-old with leukaemia praised staff at a children’s ward for the “fantastic treatment” she received.

Lucy Mitchell, who lives in Abbots Langley, was diagnosed with cancer in August 2016 and has received treatment at both the Starfish ward at Watford General Hospital and also Great Ormond Street Hospital.

Her mother Susannah feels the children’s ward at Watford General does not receive as much support as GOSH despite the huge amount of support and care the doctors and nurses provide.

“Lucy’s treatment has been split between Great Ormond Street Hospital and Watford General Hospital. We cannot speak highly enough of GOSH, we feel that Watford General and specifically the children’s ward, Starfish.”

“They really have been amazing and people don’t realise they are so short of money and they are an actual charity that can be donated to.”
