Schoolchildren got the chance to put questions to an MP.
South West Herts MP David Gauke visited St Mary’s Church of England Primary School in Rickmansworth where he was quizzed on the British government and the rule of law. Mr Gauke, who is Justice Secretary, joined the pupils on March 16.
He also spoke with the school’’s learning council about his role as an MP.
Head teacher Emma Edwards said: “The pupils found the visit very informative about the life of an MP and underpinned our work on British values, especially as our value this half term is justice. We really appreciated David Gauke taking time out of his busy schedule to visit our school.”
“The children in the class really enjoyed his visit and afterwards a lot of them were keen to start their own journey into politics.”
