An iconic steam train is set to pass through south west Hertfordshire this evening (Tuesday).

The Flying Scotsman will arrive in Kings Langley at 6.05pm and depart at 6.17pm before passing through Watford Junction at around 6.22pm and then Bushey railway station.

The train was built in Doncaster and first came into service on the London and North Eastern railway in 1923.

It ran the first daily service from London to Edinburgh, completing the run in eight hours.

The train was recently given a £4.2 million refurbishment and is running a tour programme this year.
