Gardening volunteers for a hospice providing care for people with life-limiting illnesses will organise a plant sale to support the charity.

Green-fingered helpers for the Michael Sobell Hospice in Northwood are planning to hold their annual plant selling event on May 12, from 10am – 12.30pm.

The volunteers who maintain the hospice gardens in their free time will be selling an array of bedding plants and flowers, vegetables and herbs, bird food and home-made preserves to any gardening enthusiasts who want to come along.

Helpful tips for keeping your garden looking good will also be available.

Michael Sobell Hospice Charity spokesperson, Vanessa Howden-Smith, said: “We are appealing for any gardening donations for our forthcoming plant sale.

“If you are able to make a donation, please kindly drop-off your items to the charity office via Gate 3, off White Hill, between 9am - 5pm, in the run-up to the event and ideally by Wednesday May 9.”

Entry to the event is free as is parking on the day, and there will be a selection of refreshments available to buy.

The charity has been providing specialist palliative care for over 40 years to patients and needs to raise over £1.6 million pounds to ensure the continued funding of services each year.
