A blocked drain which sparked safety concerns has now been cleared following pressure from a councillor.
Cllr Asif Khan, who represents Leggatts Ward, reported the blockage on the corner of Hatfield Road and St Albans Road to Hertfordshire County Council three times over the past six months.
But he said “nothing was done” and a nasty smell started developing.
However, he is pleased his concerns about the drain being a slip hazard for pedestrians were finally addressed.
He said: “I'm glad this has been done after a long struggle, it shows that a more proactive approach needs to be done to get drains unblocked.
“There are other drains that need to be cleared in the area and I will work to get these done too.”
