People are being warned the water supplies in their home could be affected this afternoon due to a burst water pipe.

Affinity Water has said a repair team are currently on their way to fix the burst in Langleybury Lane, Kings Langley.

Homeowners are being advised to avoid using electrical appliances that require using water and make sure there is plenty of water stored.

Affinity Water has posted online: “Our technician has assessed the burst; a repair team have been called and are on their way to carry out the necessary work in order to restore supplies to normal.

“In order to restore your supply during this repair, we are currently trying to divert water from other areas; however this may be at a lower pressure than normal until the repair is complete.

“During this time we ask you not to use any electrical appliances that require a water supply, for example washing machines or dishwashers and to conserve water from storage tanks during the time your water supply is interrupted.

“If you do still have a supply, we would advise you to store some water for drinking, in case your water has to be switched off for a repair to be completed. We are sorry for the inconvenience caused.”
