Students from the same educational trust have won the chance to tour parliament after winning an art competition.

Year 7 students from Croxley Danes and St Clement Danes schools both entered the competition hosted by Watford MP Richard Harrington.

Mr Harrington visited Croxley Danes School to hand out the awards on May 3.

He said: “I am incredibly impressed with the quality of the work which had been submitted from all the students.”

Croxley Danes students Connor Teefy and Lisa Sadchikova came first place, winning a tour in The Houses of Parliament.

A spokesperson from Croxley Danes School said: “Lisa described how ‘thrilled’ she was when she heard she had won.

“Connor revealed that he hadn’t actually wanted to enter at first.

“He’s now really pleased that his mum had persuaded him to do so.

“It was a successful competition for the Danes Educational Trust.

“Many congratulations to all the students and the art department for inspiring them to enter.”

Lottie Park, from St Clement Danes School, won a pack of gifts from the Houses of Parliament.

The competition was open to all schools in Watford and the surrounding area.

The awards were held to commemorate 100 years since the Representation of the People Act 1918 which led to the vote for all men and women.
