Road closures were put in place last night after a metal canopy was left hanging precariously over a pavement.
Firefighters and police were called to flats in Whippendell Road, Watford, yesterday, shortly before 7pm.
A metal canopy was reported to have been hanging off the building, three storeys high.

The flats were situated between a nursery and the Rising Sun, at the business park end of Whippendell Road.
Police put road closures in place while fire crews worked to make the scene safe for drivers and pedestrians.
The scene was declared safe by 7.30pm.
