A "wonderful" school canteen team which always serves food with a smile has won an award.

The staff at St Michael's Catholic High School, in High Elms, Watford,were given the award from Herts Catering Limited.

The awards ceremony was held at Shendish Manor in Hemel Hempstead - and they were back at work making bacon rolls the next day.

Headteacher Edward Conway said: "We are delighted that our wonderful catering team have won this award.

"They make a significant contribution to St Michael’s not only in the quality of food that they produce on a daily basis but also due to their infectious smiles, bubbly personalities and genuine care for all of the students in our community.

"They are a very special group and we value them greatly.’
