A man has been charged with attempted murder in connection with an incident that happened last weekend.
Police were called to a block of flats in Scrubbitts Square in Radlett on May 27 after reports a woman was injured and a man had an unknown substance thrown in his eyes.
The woman sustained puncture wounds to her arm and abdomen.
The woman, in her 40's, remains in hospital but the man, aged in his 30's, has since been released from hospital.
Hertsmere Chief Inspector Steve O’Keeffe said: “I know this incident will have caused concern among the local community but I’d like to reassure you that we believe this was an isolated and targeted incident where all those involved are known to each other.
“This type of incident is very unusual in Radlett and local Safer Neighbourhood officers are visiting the area to offer reassurance to residents.”
- Frank Brinkley, 51, of no fixed address, has been charged with attempted murder, throwing a corrosive substance on a person with intent to causing GBH, ABH, and two counts of harassment.
He appeared at Hatfield Remand Court today. (Thursday).
He has been remanded in custody and is next set to appear at St Albans Crown Court on June 29.
