If ever there was a stallholder who summed up the spirit of Watford Market, it was Lynne Lawrence.
No matter the economic outlook, Lynne was always there - rain or shine.
The market moved, but Lynne had regular customers, who knew she would provide a service with a smile.
Managers and different companies took over the running of the market from the council, but Lynne was a constant and sadly, with her retirement,Watford’s Charter Market and the town has lost one of the ‘old school’.
I wish her well in her retirement to enjoy her family and have some well-earned rest.
Cllr Nigel Bell
Labour leader, Watford Borough Council
