A family are appealing for witnesses after a cyclist was reportedly clipped and forced head first into the rear window of a parked car.

Stuart Nurse,52, was riding along Little Bushey Lane in Bushey at around 5pm on Wednesday when he was struck.

The driver did not stop.

He was on his regular ride home from work, cycling from London Colney to Edgware, when he was brushed by a car who reportedly drove too close to him, near Bushey Jewish Cemetery.

Mr Nurse was sent flying off his bike hurtling into the window of a parked Audi, smashing the glass. He sustained a broken nose and large cuts to his face.

His Strava app suggests he was travelling at around 25 km/h but he cannot remember any details about the car which caused him to crash.

Police and paramedics were called and he was put in a neck brace as a precaution and taken to hospital.

He was discharged from hospital on Friday.

Watford Observer:
