A school will host a reunion celebrating fifty years of outdoor education for thousands of its former pupils.

On June 30, Kings Langley School will mark the half-century it has helped to create “cherished memories” for more than 10,000 young people by sending them to its Outdoor Education Centre near Brecon in mid Wales.

The centre, known as Brecon Forest Farmhouse, has been used for many outdoor experiences by Kings Langley School and other schools, colleges and universities since 1968.

This month, Kings Langley students have been using the Welsh farmhouse to complete their Duke of Edinburgh Awards in survival, navigation, kayaking and other outdoor courses in geology, forestry and agricultural science.

The reunion will be held in and outdoors at the school with activities on the school field. Guests will enjoy a hog roast, bar, tours of the new school building, film shows, tombola and a prize draw to win a free holiday to the centre in Wales.
