A couple are planning to host a farmers’ market in their village that will be the first of its kind.
Leah and Li Hussain will host a fun-filled famers’ market in Chorleywood, Rickmansworth, with the help of traders and business owners in the area.
The market will appear at St Andrew’s Church on Quickley Lane on August 4.
Leah and Li, two accountants who have lived in Chorleywood for 27 years, will hand out leaflets advertising the market at Chorleywood’s Village Day on July 14.
The farmer’s market will feature jams and preserves, cheeses and vegetables grown in the area, as well as face painting and a balloon artist.
Li said they want to create a “family-friendly environment” adding: “We’ve never had one in the village before and we thought it would be something people would like, so we asked around and there was a keen interest.
“The church are happy to support and help us with it and Chorleywood Magazine have said they will promote the event.
“Ideally, we want to get as many local trades people as possible appearing at the market”.
Li added he hoped the market would become a monthly affair.
