A festival this weekend will feature live band music, fashion show, food stalls and music performances.

The annual Ghana Party in the Park attracts thousands of attendees every year from across the UK and Europe.

It hopes to highlight Ghana’s cultural heritage and other traditional attributes, while giving people a platform to showcase their talents from music, fashion and art.

This year will have an arts and craft exhibition, cultural troupe dancing, durbar of chiefs, live bands, a fashion show, face painting, bouncy castles, food, drinks, product sales, a dance competition and aqua bubble.

Performers will include Kuami Eugene, Kidi, Bisa Kdei and Kwesi Arthur, all from Ghana. Representing the UK will be Afro B, Goldkay, Gracious Kay and Kojo Funds.

Event Coordinator of The Akwaaba Group, Dennis Tawiah, says: “This year, we want to focus on a festival feel as the theme with more add-ons. Ghana Party in the Park is an opportunity to showcase Ghana’s rich cultural heritage and other traditional attributes as well as creating the enabling environment for all attendees to interact, network have fun.

“We must also focus on the artistes who are flying the flag high across the globe to bring their shine to the event and also engage with their fans. Annually we have thousands of patrons from across the globe attending the event and we continue to deliver year after year but this edition we are going to give patrons another memorable and unforgettable experience.”
