A pop-up cafe will appear at a popular community centre this weekend offering food at reasonable prices that would have otherwise gone to waste.

After a two-week break, the Random Café, part of The Real Junk Food Project, will set up shop at the Centrepoint Community Centre in Watford on July 14.

Doors open from 12pm until 2pm.

There will be teas, coffees and a variety of snacks all intercepted from supermakerts that were destined for landfill.

The community interest group are a not-for-profit organisation who encourage customers to pay “what they feel it is worth” for the food and anything left over is given to local farms for livestock.

The cafe also accept "time or skills" as a form of payment.

The Watford-based café started in 2017 and is run entirely by volunteers. They hold three events per month.
