Weekly outdoor yoga classes kick off tomorrow and will continue over the summer. All abilities are welcome to the Friday classes, taking place between 8.30am and 9.30am.

Yoga For The People, founded by Josephine McGrail, who has run her not for profit yoga classes at a venues such as Shoreditch House and Yotopia in Covent Garden for the last four years, will take place in the square outside Hornsey Town Hall in Crouch End.

Attendees are invited to make a suggested donation of £10 for the class, with all money going towards local arts charity Haringey Young Musicians helping to support the next generation of music talent.

Hornsey Town Hall is the latest venue for Josephine started her classes after experiencing donations-based Yoga classes in New York. She has now brought the classes here to the UK and welcomes people of all abilities to enjoy her classes.

The classes are part of Hornsey Town Halls’ planned programme of community focused arts, food and drink events being produced in collaboration with The Time + Space Co, who are heading up the £30 million redevelopment of Hornsey Town Hall’s Arts Centre.

Piers Read, managing partner of The Time + Space Co, says: “Yoga for The People is a unique studio with the goal of recapturing what we consider to be the essence of Yoga – everybody, anybody, anywhere.

“We know how concerned people have been about the future of the town hall square. We hope such community oriented events underline our direction of travel. We want to reassure people the green is safe guarded and will be used for multiple cultural events in the future. These will include arts and craft fairs with festivals and exhibitions, including open air cinema and street food markets all of which are designed to welcome local people, in ways that promote creativity and celebrate the multi-cultural communities in Haringey.”
