Ronald McGrath may be right about the posturings of the anti-Trump protests. We’ve had to put up with visits from other undesirables before.
What is not in doubt is the right to parody the great and good [and the not so good]. Political cartoons dating back to Gilray, then via the likes of brilliant cartoonists of the modern day, constantly subvert politicians. Now Mr Trump is no exception. The balloon was mildly amusing and not that offensive. Offensive? How about a man who is narcissistic, sexist, borderline racist, and inclined to run off at the mouth or tweet without thinking or with no respect for the truth? Mr Trump is not always wrong; he is spot on in his rejecting the roll over deal with the Iran regime and about the fact that few NATO European countries pay their fair share. All in all though, he is no great politician or statesman and fair game for taking the mickey.
