Bushey Embroideries

A Textile History of Bushey from the Stone Age to the present day. The idea was the inspiration of the late Bryan Wood who wanted the group of embroiderers who had previously worked on the Bushey Millennium Panel to create a Bayeux-style tapestry. The group of embroiderers, all Friends of the Museum, began by trying out samples. Then, based on designs by local artist Marlie Dry from details set up by Museum founders Grant Longman and Bryan Wood, each worked on their own panel. The twenty final panels illustrate topics from the Stone Age to the present day.
