Police were called to a road in Watford on Friday after reports a man was stabbed.
Officers were seen in Water Lane, just off the ring road, at around 5pm after they were called to reports a man in his 30s was stabbed.
Police are trying to determine exactly what happened and enquiries are ongoing. However, they believe the people involved knew each other.
No arrests have been made at this time.
One witness reported around six police cars and an ambulance in Water Lane while a police officer was also spotted guarding some steps on the A411 between the ring road and the Waterfields roundabout.
