IT'S 11 goals in two games for Enfield Borough after they claimed a 5-1 victory over Buckingham Athletic at the Maurice Rebak Stadium on Saturday.

It took nearly an hour for the Borough scoring machine to click into gear in their Spartan South Midlands League Division One clash , but once they gained a two-goal lead the contest was effectively over.

Following a quiet opening, the hosts started to get the upper hand as Isaac Stevens was denied by a good save and then hit the side netting.

Stevens was finding plenty of space on the right wing and he was influential in the move that lead to the opening goal.

Gaining possession in midfield, he played the ball up the right flank to Alie Bangura, whose low cross into the goalmouth was slid home under pressure by Richard Ennin.

Chances were few and far between for the remainder of the first half, but Borough nearly extended their lead seven minutes after the break when Tage Kennedy cut in from the left only to see his shot clip the foot of the post.

But a second goal was to follow in unfamiliar route one fashion.

Brandon Walsh collected the corner before launching his clearance over the top of the Buckingham back line. The alert Bangura nipped in on the blind side and managed to lob the ball over the advancing keeper and into the vacant net.

The three points were finally wrapped up as the game approached the last 10 minutes.

A Buckingham free-kick on the right was cleared by Brian Tshibangu and Brandon Mckenna. Neil King mis-controlled the ball inside his own half and Kennedy pounced on the error. The striker ran half the length of the pitch, leaving three defenders trailing in his wake before finding the back of the net off the inside of the post.

Five minutes from time it was 4-0 as substitute Sivi Bao skipped past Luca Seminerio and cut in from the right. Clear of his marker, he had time to look up and pick out Mckenna six yards out to score his first competitive goal for the club.

Borough were now cutting through the Buckingham defence at will and a minute later Kennedy saw his lob hit the crossbar. Mckenna seized on the rebound and returned the ball to Kennedy, who scored only to be ruled offside.

With a rare clean sheet within their grasp, Borough conceded two minutes from the end when Jordan Appleton fired the ball past Walsh from close range.

However it was Borough who were to have the final say and three minutes into stoppage time Kennedy’s run down the left ended with a cut back to Mckenna to net his second.
