A swimathon in memory of a teenager who died of a brain tumour is being held.
The event will be held at Sir James Altham Swimming Pool in South Oxhey on August 19.
It has been organised in honour of Alex Hale, 17, who died on May 30, 2018, six months after being diagnosed with an inoperable brain tumour.
Her former swimming teacher, Charlotte Reynolds, decided to run the event to support The Teenage Cancer Trust.
Charlotte herself will be swimming seven miles and is asking for donations, and people to take part. There will also be a cake sale on the day.
Raffle tickets will also be on sale, with prizes from Watford FC, Lakeland, GAME, Tesco and Waterstones.
Anyone can enter the event and swim as many lengths as they can to raise money through sponsorship for the charity.
So far, £1,550 has been raised.
