Queen Victoria's chickens stolen

The theft of six rare birds from Aldenham Country Park has led to more than £4,000 being spent on extra security.

The stolen birds are Jubilee Game Chickens, originally bred to celebrate Queen Victoria's Jubilee in 1887.

Since the theft security has been increased at the park, including the introduction of night time patrols.

Anyone with information as to the birds' whereabouts should telephone Hertfordshire County Council on 01438 73721 or police on 0845 3300 222.
