A youngster from Watford has been shortlisted to win the RSPCA Young Photographer of the Year Award.
Maddie Thomas, 11, of King George's Avenue submitted a picture of a dragonfly, which was one of the 33 chosen from thousands of entries.
Chief RSPCA photographer Andrew Forsyth said: "The Young Photographer Awards has always been a difficult competition to win, but 2007 will be the toughest yet.
"The standard of the entries has been exceptionally high and the judges had great difficulty in reducing the images down to these shortlisted finalists."
