Thousands turn to charity

More than 2,400 new clients turned to the Watford Citizens Advice Bureau for help last year.

The new figures, revealed by Dr Shamim Jagot, manager of Watford CAB, show that between April 2006 and March 2007 advisers saw 2,418 new clients and dealt with 4,349 new enquiries.

There were a total of 8,621 total client contacts.

According to Citizens Advice, the value of volunteering for the Watford Bureau in 2006/07 was £163,810.
