A prolific burglar has been found guilty of stabbing a married couple during a bungled raid at a Croxley Green restaurant.
Jason Garland, 33, was found guilty today by a majority verdict after the jury deliberated for more than nine hours.
He was convicted of burglary, aggravated burglary and two counts of grievous bodily harm (GBH).
The charges related to an attack at the Harvester, Croxley Green, in the early hours of Monday, July 17, last year.
At St Albans Crown Court this week, the judge allowed a "bad character" application by the prosecution, and the jury was told about Garland's 11 similar previous convictions, including a 12-year sentence for robbery which he was released in November 2004.
Garland, and his accomplice Stephen Ruffolo, will be sentenced in January.
