A Watford singer has made it to the finals of a new BBC tribute act show dubbed the new Stars in their Eyes.

Katy Setterfield, 37, who has grown up in Watford, and is an avid Hornets fan, took on two other contenders for the Dusty Springfield role in The One and Only, a Saturday night show, which will be broadcast over the next six weeks.

Katy, who has been a professional singer for several years and is currently touring the country with the musical show That'll Be The Day, said: "It has been hard work getting a break like this along with the everyday effort of touring the country, but I am determined to give it my best shot.

Katy's mum, Carolyn, who lives in Basildon Close, Croxley Green, said: "This is a fantastic opportunity for Katy and her career.

"She has worked hard for it and national television exposure will give her career a major boost.

"Although we will all miss her while she is locked away with the BBC, we will all be rooting for her."

Katy, who was given a share in Watford Football Club as a birthday present two years ago, and has since purchased more shares, has been polishing her act to sing like Dusty, by taking on the roles of female singers in That'll Be The Day.

The winner of the The One and Only will win a professional performing contract in Las Vegas.
