It is non-stop rehearsals this week for Dusty Springfield fan Katy Setterfield.

The Hornets supporter and shareholder, who was born and brought up in Watford, moved a step closer to a singing contract in Las Vegas when she made it through to the next round of the BBC's latest musical competiton.

Katy, 37, was voted through to the next round of The One And Only with her rendition of Dusty classic I Only Wanna Be With You.

The singer appeared in a sparkly pink outfit with Dusty's signature peroxide blonde hair and dark eyes, and was cheered through to the next round by husband Andy, mum Carolyn and dad Robert who still live in Croxley Green.

Before taking to the stage Robert said: "Whenever I see her perform I'm very emotional. I feel so proud of her I just can't help it, I need to tell people that's my daughter."

Viewers also heard how Katy and husband Andy met nine years ago and how they now work together, with her on vocals and him playing in her band.

She said: "Working with Andy is fantastic, we have been married for five years. He's my best friend, he's my soul mate."

Before going on stage she added: "I've worked hard for so many years this is my time to shine, I'm going to really go for it."

A huge round of applause went up from the crowd when she had finished performing and Carrie Grant, top vocal coach and judge on the BBC One show, was also full of praise for her.

She said: "I'm so proud of you! Dusty of this era is very hard. You're everything we've been looking for this week and you delivered tonight."

Katy and ten others, including Elton John, Robbie Williams and Madonna impersonators, made it through to the next round on Saturday and will now battle it out over the next five weeks for a chance to win a three-month contract performing with Legends In Concert in Las Vegas.

The One And Only is on again next Saturday at 6.25pm on BBC One with the results being broadcast later at 9.20pm.
