Law catches rogue anglers

Four anglers have been fined for fishing without licences.

Jamie Burnell, 26, of Bowmans Green, South Oxhey, was caught without the relevant paperwork at Grove Bridge on the Grand Union Canal, Watford, on August 9, last year.

Johnathan Mann, 22, of Grovewood Close, Chorleywood, was caught at Gaywoods Fishery in Kings Langley without a licence as was Matthew Welch, 21, of Hillside Road, Chorleywood.

Lady Capels on the Grand Union Canal, Watford, was the spot where Christopher Wharfe, 40, of Derwent Close, Watford, was caught using his rod and line without a licence.

All were fined between £50 and £85 and ordered to pay costs and a £15 victim surcharge.
