An eight-year-old girl from Abbots Langley has become one of the youngest ever pupils to pass a GCSE exam.
Ellie Capocci scored a C grade in her ICT exam, after studying the two-year course in just 12 months through Ryde Teaching Services, which is based in Bushey Meads School, Coldharbour Lane, Bushey.
Frederick Ryde, also eight years old and the son of principal Dr Mike Ryde, from Flaunden, also achieved a C grade in the same exam.
The two students studied for their GCSE during evening and weekend sessions, outside their usual school lessons.
Dr Ryde said: "I am very proud of my son and Ellie.
"It proves that our teaching methods have created an education system that encourages and stimulates confidence and discipline and motivation.
"We firmly believe that children should be allowed to develop regardless of age."
Ryde Teaching Services have made the headlines over the past nine years for youngsters regularly passing GCSEs and A Levels usually reserved for 16 and 18 year olds.
