Andy Kyriacou has vowed to return "bigger, better and stronger" after he became the second key Saracens player this week to have his season wrecked by injury.

With the Men in Black still reeling over losing their All Black lock Chris Jack for the remainder of the campaign after he suffered a hand injury in Saturday's cup defeat to Ospreys, the injury crisis struck again when hooker Kyriacou suffered medial ligament damage to his left knee during a freak' training ground accident on Wednesday.

Luckily, first choice ball winner Matt Cairns has fully recovered from a broken arm and will make his first senior start since December when relegation haunted Leeds Carnegie visit Vicarage Road tomorrow (Sunday).

"It was just a freak accident that happened in a contact session," said Kyriacou. "I could say it could not have happened at a worst time for me but, if I write off the current season I'm only going to miss three months of rugby.

"It's happened now and I'll come back bigger, better and stronger for it. It will give me the chance to work on things I've not had the chance to look at. I'm in a knee brace at the moment so I'll be hitting the gym hard and doing some analysis with the coaches."

It is the 25-year-old Liverpudlian's first serious injury since joining the Men in Black from Sale Sharks in 2004 yet he knows how to channel is frustrations having had a shoulder reconstructed at the Stockport-based outfit.

"I'm disappointed as I've had a taste of the first team and wanted to come off this season on a high and go into the next one buzzing," he added. "But the support from everyone has been unbelievable. My phone nearly exploded the other day with so many texts and phonecalls from the lads. The medical staff and my girlfriend have also been fantastic."

While he is sidelined Kyriacou also plans to get his joint business venture off the ground. On May 1 he is opening Hoodz and Capz, a retail store selling hooded tops and baseball caps at the Real Sports Shop in Watford. His business partner is his shirt sponsor and Druids pub owner, Alan Walters.

"We're trying to get stock in from all over the world," said the hooker. "We've got some brands coming from the United States and we plan to produce our own line in clothing at some stage."

Outside centre Kevin Sorrell will start for the first time tomorrow (Sunday) since suffering a troublesome ankle injury in Sarries' landmark Heineken Cup triumph at Glasgow Warriors in January.

He will partner Adam Powell who is given the nod ahead of the benched Andy Farrell. Sarries boss Alan Gaffney has restored Francisco Leonelli and Kameli Ratuvou to the wings, new father Cencus Johnston returns at tighthead prop at Cobus Visagie's expense, Kris Chesney takes Jack's place in the second row while Paul Gustard comes into the back row alongside Don Barrell and Ben Skirving.

Richard Haughton is given a well-earned rest while Rodd Penney misses out on selection for the second game running.

Saracens: Russell, Leonelli, Sorrell, Powell, Ratuvou, Jackson, de Kock (cpt); Lloyd, Cairns, Johnston, Vyvyan, Chesney, Gustard, Barrell, Skirving.

Replacements: Ongaro, Visagie, Ryder, Seymour, Rauluni, Farrell, Scarbrough.
