Adam Powell, Saracens' exciting young centre, has been called up to the England Saxons squad for their Churchill Cup defence.
The 21-year-old got the call following an injury to Leicester's Dan Hipkiss in Saturday's Guinness Premiership final. Wasps' Dominic Waldock has taken his place in the senior squad, meaning Powell will take his seat alongside team-mate Nick Lloyd for the second string's USA trip.
"It's a good reward for him," said Saracens boss Eddie Jones. "He has progressed well during the season and it's a good opportunity for him to develop further and I'm very pleased for him.
"It's good to see that some of our boys are getting belated recognition and I'd like to think Richard Haughton would have been joining Adam had he not had a minor groin operation the other week."
