Roadworks affect us all as we travel to and from work, and go about our daily lives.

Coming across an unexpected road or lane closure can add valuable time to our journeys.

Knowing where these roadworks are taking place can help us to avoid the traffic, and continue with everyday life.

With that in mind, here's the 16 locations that are undergoing roadworks over the next month, according to Hertfordshire County Council.

1. A120 Little Hadham Bypass, near Bishops Stortford

The A120 Little Hadham Bypass was constructed between July 2019 and summer 2021.

The road was built to reduce pollution and improve air quality in the area.

Road maintainance works are set to take place for 24 hours, between tomorrow (Sunday, November 27) and Monday (November 28).

Further works will take place daily, between 9am and 5pm, between November 28 and December 3.

2. A414 North Orbital Road, St Albans

The A414 North Orbital Road runs from Hatfield to the Park Street roundabout near St Albans.

The road then splits to become two separate highways, the A414 and the North Orbital Road.

Emergency resurfacing works are set to take place between Monday (November 28) and Saturday, December 10.

These will take place between 8pm and 5am daily.

3. Barnet Road, Potters Bar

Barnet Road sits between the London Borough of Barnet and the Hertfordshire town of Potters Bar.

Infrastructure works conducted by UK Power are currently taking place in the area.

These began on October 3 and are set to continue until tomorrow (Sunday, November 27).

4. Brook Road, Borehamwood

Brook Road, in Borehamwood, runs from Shenley Road to Gateshead Road in the town.

Resurfacing works are set to take place, within the residential area.

These will take place on Monday, December 12, for one day only.

5. Bury End, Pirton

Bury End, in Pirton near Hitchin, is a culdesac running from Great Green.

Resurfacing works will take place on the road tomorrow (Sunday, November 28).

These works will run for a single day.

6. Chalfont Lane, Maple Cross

Chalfont Lane runs from Old Uxbridge Road to Shire Lane, near the village of Maple Cross.

Disruption caused by the High Speed Railway (HS2) project has been affecting Chalfont Lane for some time.

Having begun in November 2019, the works are set to continue until at least 2026.

7. Cockbush Avenue, Hertford

Cockbrush Avenue, in Hertford, is a culdesac that runs from the A119 Ware Road.

Resurfacing works are set to take place next month, in the residential area.

These will take place on Thursday, December 15, for one day only.

8. Green Street, Chorleywood

Green Street, in Chorleywood, runs from Orchard Drive to Amersham Road.

Resurfacing works are set to take place on Thursday, December 15, in the area.

These will cause disruption for one day only.

9. Holmdale Close & Chiltern Close, Borehamwood

Holmdale Close and Chiltern Close are residential areas off Anthony Road, in the town of Borehamwood.

Resurfacing works are due to take place at the location on Tuesday, December 13.

These will take place for one day only.

10. Old Common Road, Chorleywood

Old Common Road is a single track road, detached from Common Road, in Chorleywood.

Resurfacing works are set to take place in the area on Friday, December 16.

These will take place for a single day.

11. Oldfield Rise, Whitwell

Oldfield Rise, in Whitwell, is a culdesac that runs from Bradway.

Resurfacing works are due to take place in the residential area.

These will take place on Tuesday, November 29.

12. Orchard Road, Hitchin

Orchard Road runs from Woolgrove Road to Highover Way in the town of Hitchin.

Two days of resurfacing works are set to take place at the location.

These works will begin on Thursday (December 1) and conclude on Friday (December 2).

13. Parkfield, Markyate

Parkfield runs from Buckwood Road to Corner Wood in the village of Markyate.

Two days of resurfacing works is due to take place at the location.

Disruption will occur at the residential area between Thursday December 8, and Friday December 9.

14. Quinn Way, Letchworth

Quinn Way, in Letchworth, runs from Radburn Way to Schoolfields.

Three days of disruption will be caused by resurfacing works in the residential area.

These works will take place from December 5 to December 7.

15. Shire Lane, Chorleywood

One day of disruption is set to take place on Shire Lane, Chorleywood.

The resurfacing works will take place on December 14.

The road runs from Heronsgate Road to Green Street.

16. St Mary's Rise, Hitchin

St Mary's Rise is a culdesac that runs from Heath Road in Hitchin.

Resurfacing works are due to take place in the residential area.

These will take place on Wednesday, November 30.
