Some might say it is an understatement to say it’s been cold these past few days.
Having had such a mild November, it is safe to say that for some of us this cold snap has come as a bit of a surprise.
As of yesterday, Friday, December 9, a level 3 cold weather alert has been issued by the UK Health Security Agency covering all of England and is currently in place until Friday, December 16.

While the actual temperature seems cold enough the Met Office’s prediction as to what it will feel like is really worth taking note of.
The “feel like temperature” considers other factors, such as wind speed.
With temperatures set to drop, Hertfordshire County Council announced it was sending its gritters out on Friday evening.
