  • Herts Fire and Rescue was called to a chemical spill in the hospital at 10.35am this morning (January 26).
  • People were taken to A&E and the immediate area was evacuated.
  • Three fire engines were on site for clean-up and potential decontamination.
  • Police were in attendance to assist.
  • Hertfordshire Fire and Rescue called a stop to the incident at around 3.35pm and then left shortly after.
  • The hospital trust confirmed at around 5.15pm that all services are running as normal.
