Planning permission for 80 ground-mounted solar panels has been granted.
The eco-friendly option will be installed at Waterlane Farm, Water Lane in Bovingdon.
Power generated from the solar panels will be used solely for residential purposes – the farm and its outbuildings.
While the solar panels are to be placed in Green Belt, the application outlines that they are freestanding and can be “easily removable from the site when no longer required”.

The statement adds: “As such, the works are temporary and reversible, and the land is capable of being returned to its former state.”
Granted on May 25 by Dacorum Borough Council, the planning application outlines that the solar panels are to be located between Waterlane Farm and Bryants Nurseries.
They are to be placed north of the farm in an area surrounded by mature planting and screened from most views.
There are two heritage assets on the site, Waterlane Farm and its adjoining South Barn, as well as the entrance barn to the site.
But the solar panels are to be placed furthest away from these buildings.
A similar planning application was granted in 2021 for 60 ground mounted solar panels in a field immediately adjacent to the gardens of a Grade II listed residence in Great Gaddesden.
The Waterlane Farm application's reference number is 23/00802/FUL.
